Is this site great or what? I just found it yesterday. Been having a little trouble with my .58 Mississippi rifle and thanks to Google, here I am! Learned all kinds of stuff!

About all I do is hunt. Don't have much time for target shooting. I need to make some more time for that. I'd rather hunt with that Mississippi rifle than any other gun I own. Like to bowhunt too.

I look forward to getting to know you folks!

Would you believe that I am going to be in Mount Vernon tomorrow night? I am taking the kids to visit my parents and we are all going to the Horseman of the Year banquet. My dad is big in the horse business up there.

I used to go to Champaign all the time for 4-H and FFA competitions when I was in high school. We ALWAYS stopped at the same Effingham truck stop. I don't remember what the name of it was, but it was east of the interstate and you have to turn down the access road to get to it. I bet you know exactly where I am talking about. Good food and great video games..... at least it was that way 20 some odd years ago.

Have you ever attended any muzzle loading competitions in your neck of the woods? If so, you may have met some of the Scherer family. They were huge into that when we were kids and used to compete all the time. I would go hang out at their house some. One of their sons was the first kid my age that my dad would let me go hunting with. For the memories!

Now you'll have to learn to say, "Yaller Hammer, Yaller Hammer, flicka, flicka, flicka." It was some taunt that the Corn-feds gave to the Alambamans when they lost their guns in a hasty retreat. :blah:

I've never been to any shooting competitions. They have one north of St. Elmo every Labor Day, but I never seem to get over to it. Some friends of mine are in on it.
You probably mean the T.A. Good food.
