Hi all,
I bought a Deer Creek Vest Pocket Derringer at a gun show last weekend and am looking for load ideas, cap size, ball size, powder size and charge.
Can anyone help?
Here is the Dixie link... http://www.dixiegunworks.com/product_info.php?cPath=22_92_187_189&products_id=2010

Thanks,
dave

I have a very similar gun. I use a .315 ball with a patch over 12 grains of fffg. Disappointing performance though, it will only embed the ball in a soft pine board when shot at point blank range. Cute little conversation peice though.

Sounds like just the thing for mad, charging cucuraches!! Wee-Haa!!! :shocked2:

Don,
The bore on this one meaures .310 exactly.
I think I'd be hard pressed to get a .315 ball, let alone with patch, to load into this thing.
Do you think that the early CVA models (this one is marked CVA) had a different bore size?
Thanks,
dave
