ok , im sure this will be moved very quickly however i want to say this as it appears it needs to be said.

there are a few fella's here that seem to need to downgrade others for their own gratification. im not going to name names but its pretty agrivating to read that a member smiles or laughs out loud at the supposed ignorance of another. this kind of stupid response is the very reasson that some questions will not be asked and the good will of bp people that we hang our hats on is gonna slowly go away.

how sad that some of the more experienced folks here have a need to try to make others feel small in their shadow.....shame on you. my ol granny said it best [ if you cant say it nice, then keep yer mouth shut]

Big Ted,

Do not let the Keyboard Commandos upset you. There are a lot of good people that share their research, knowledge, experience, and skills on the forum in a friendly helpful manner. The good outweighs the negativity.

Keep making smoke and enjoy the journey.

I for one could not agree with you more. There tends to be a little too much bashing going on here at times. And it takes away from the feeling of community I come here for. We're supposed to be adults, not snobby grade schoolers. I'm glad someone was mature enough to bring this up.

this kind of stupid response . . . . . . . .

Hmmmmmmm :hmm:

Ok, ok! Just kidding!

I think there is less of that on the builder threads than in many others parts of the forum. If you watch carefully, after a while you will see that the types of which you speak are not people with greater knowledge looking down on others. They are usually just people that like to ..... well, kinda look down on others! :)

Ignore em.

Of course, but it's still ALOT better here than many other places on the net,,

Once you see that from a member, you generally see it across the board and it get's easy to just plain ignore them.
Matter of fact there is an "ignore" button you can use for any individual member,,try it,, it can make you happy again

I guess I hadnt really noticed ANY of that on the builders forum...????

It does'nt matter if you go to a PTA meeting, council meeting or any type of gathering there is always a few that are "Legends in their own Minds" and have to hog the conversation and get off on belittleing someone! It happens in all groups. When I see their post I don't even bother reading it. They won't go away so all you can do is ignore them! :shake:

Bigted,
I know how you feel. That's the reason I left the board for a year or so. I just re-registered again and it appears that the problem is better now than it was a year ago or so....

I'm assuming this topic somehow got moved to the Gun Builders Bench forum by mistake?

I have almost never seen the type of behavior your describing here in the Gun Builders Bench area of the forum.

Yes, occasionally someone will not be very tactful when telling someone else that they screwed up some part of their build but this is rare.
For the most part the responses are giving information to guide a person, help or fix a problem or to mention that they have also made a similar mistake and then go on to tell how they corrected it.

If I'm mistaken and the folks on the Gun Builders Bench are attacking some other member personally or even being rude to folks, I'll keep my eyes open for it and take the necessary action to remove the problem.

Don't let the negatives out do the positives. There are some negatives to be sure ( though I have not noticed them on the building sub forum). But over all there are a lot of good people with a lot of knowledge to share. Even if our personal experiences and beliefs vary, we try to help and be helped. After shooting black powder for over 45 years and working on guns for over thirtyfive years I still learn a lot here on the forums. If I have ever offended anyone by my placing the little symbols in or after a message, I apoligise. Some times I just hit the wrong key or click wrong, (Like when I try to use the photobucket thing ) :idunno:
