Any of you guys ever use these. I found a bag of poly patch's from Butler Creek in a box along with some other m/L items.
In the photo I have a .440 RB sitting inside one. The poly apparently takes the place of a cloth patch.

I googled the poly patch and apparently issues with it related to the ball rolling out of the "patch" before being fired. Suggestions include using bore butter or Crisco. Put a dab in the cavity to hold the ball. I could see issues if you load these w/o especially if you are in the field constantly lowering the barrel from normal walking.
Not sure if I want to give these a "shot" or not. Currently my T/C Hawken in .45 is throwing balls all over the place at 50 and 100 yards. Need more experimentation.

blast from the past! i had forgotten all about those. purposely i think.
if my two still active brain cells remember right they not only were a problem capturing the ball but coated the bore with plastic. seems i spent many hours muttering something like " wish the inventor of these had died before he did".
