Before the advent of large-capacity slow cookers I used a 12-qt metal stock pot and lid in the oven at about 220°F, overnight, with excellent results. Your crockery pot and lid will work fine if the lid handle is oven-safe. Otherwise use a foil "lid".

When cooking for a crowd, I tend to dig the turkey roaster (with lid) out of storage but a stockpot works well, too.
