How do I find or make a tow?

A .62 jag in a .75? It should work even better in my .69 then.
I did figure out that an old .45 brush with 2 patches wrapped around it would wipe the bore, but it's not tight enough for me.

BTW, how tight does it need to be? In a rifled barrel it's tight enough to follow the rifling. Since this musket has no rifleg does it need to be as tight?

The patch doesn't need to be very tight. Just enough to wipe out the fouling. Tow is also known as flax which is plant fiber. It's kind of an 18th c. version of "steel wool". It's used for everything from fire starting to gun cleaning.
