it's bout 3/16"+ thick 8" dia and 4" deep with two little wing handles on it bout 1 1/2" long and 3/4" wide....would it hold up to melting lead in over a colman two fuel burner?....it only cost me $.50 so i'm not out of alot of money if i can't use it................bob

I don't see why it wouldn't work as long as it's not coated with teflon or anything. I have a old stainless steel pot I use to melt big quantities of lead for cleaning and pouring into ingots. I have a Lee production pot IV that a great friend gave me I use for running ball.

I would prefer a stroner metal, but it should work okay. Just try to not overheat it.

Scratch "LEAD" into it so nobody ever tries to cook in it again. If they do, then they were missing so many brain cells that it likely won't matter anyway.!

Don't see why it should not work. Years ago I came into possesion of some lead sewer pipe that had been well used - nasty stuff.

I had to melt it down outside because it was so nasty. I bought a small aluminum coffee pot and some aluminum muffin tins. I melted the pipe in chunks in the coffee pot and poured it into the muffin tins to make ingots. It worked just fine and that was pretty thin aluminum. A thicker pot should work fine.
