Only thing left to do is scrim and stain my horn. Turned the walnut plug on a lathe, carved, scraped and stained the horn.
Finished the bag hand sewn with sinew, green river camp blade I put curly maple handles on and stained with ferric nitrate, hand carved the antler powder measure. Just wish I knew how to build the rifle too. Some day maybe.

Very Nice set up You have made. Very Impressive. Love the handle on the knife, and the bag. Any ideas for scrim on the horn???

Thanks I am looking forward to falling in some creeks dragging it through some briars.. sliding down embankments.. tripping over logs.. and all that fun stuff

Pete, I'm planning a map horn showing my ancestors arrival in Berks Cty PA in 1764 and his move up the Tulpehocken path to Sunbury then West on the Shamokin Trail to Kittanning, PA with name
Johann Schreckengost his horn and including some of the engraving elements that his grandson put on the longrifles he made. It's going to be alot of work.
