This is my first try at pouring a pewter nose cap. All was going well until finish filing and I exposed some wood under an area that got too thin. Is there a way to make this look right without doing it over and potentially ruining my stock?
I was hoping someone would say that! Thank youYou don't have to remove the whole nose cap, just gouge out the thin area and and repour it. It will be invisible. Pewter is pretty forgiving when it comes to fixing screw ups. I did the exact same thing on the first one I poured.
Interesting. I've never poured a nose cap before. Its the main reason I've never started a Vincent I'd love to build. You don't have to remove the whole nose cap, just gouge out the thin area and and repour it. It will be invisible.
