Horn #49 is finished today. (I have been enjoying these past several days of scrimshawing!)
This flat horn can wear on left or right, though it would prefer the right, as it has a slight bend to it.
The horn measures 10.5" along the bottom curve. It is 3.5" high and 1.25" wide at the Black Walnut tail plug.
The nozzle is hexagon-fluted with a nice "turning" below it.
(As a note, the carry strap is fitted below the turning, not within it as it may appear designed to do; it is a decorative element that should be left exposed).
I had to ponder decorating this horn a while because of the coloring which extends quite a bit into the main horn body. Some simple scroll engraving seemed to meet the space as a decorative element, which I think worked pretty well.
I really like how this horn came out.
Asking $370 plus $5 shipping.
Thanks for looking!
~Bob
