Powder horn measuring.

When horns are advertised as a particular size, 12" for example, is that straight across from the tip to the base in a straight line or does it follow the curve. I think it is straight across but I am not sure, any ideas please.

The out side curve is most common. Why? because some people like things bigger.

I consider the size to be the overall length. Ones I sell I lay a tape measure next to horn for the pic. This gives a good perspective.

What you consider the size and what most consider the size are two very different things.
