Powder Question??

I recently purchased a 54 cal renegade, I haven't been to the range yet because of other committments. I have several pounds of Goex FFF for my 50 cal on hand. Will FFF be suitable in my 54 cal ? I was hoping to use the same powder.

Absolutely, I use 3F in a .58.

I have used 3f in my 62 cal. 60 grains makes for a pleasant load with the 340 gr. ball. It cleans up easier also

Most of my rifles are .54 and all but one prefers FFFG. They shoot tighter groups with it, as the pressures are more consistent. It's also easier to clean up and fouls less than FFG. No worries about using it in yours.

No problems with FFF, just remember you may want to drop your powder charge by 3 to five grains as the FFF burns slightly faster and therfore slightly higher psi.
