Being too cheap to actually buy a violin peg for a powderhorn bung, I gathered up some shop scrap, and turned a few. Since, I had to make a tapering tool, I went ahead, and turned bungs for two hours.All are tapered 1:30 to match my tapered reamer, and polished with a mix of turps, beeswax, and pitch (very traditional, and period correct).

Gee, if you use the groove to tie the plug onto the horn with a short piece of sinew you won't drop them and need so many. :rotf:
 
There is no word such as :nono: "scrape" in the world of MLing, everything has a use in some way, just as 200 +/- years ago. But as pointed out in other post; Best not to be married when collecting all that non-scrape. LOL :doh:
