Reorganizing ML supplies in the garage and shooting box this morning, I stumbled across a bag of .600's I forgot I had. I had a GM .62cal smoothbore barrel rifled by Ed Rayl a couple years ago, shot a few deer with it, and then with that experience behind me and a new .58cal Virginia on the way, I recently sold the .62cal rifle & all the .600's except for this bag of 25.

I have two other GM Flint smoothbore barrels...one Jug Choked 'Full' which I had tested PRB accuracy out of and while they probably would have been good enough for 50yard deer shots I wasn't satisfied with the accuracy...and it didn't matter because I had the rifed barrel.
The other GM barrel is Jug Choked Improved Cylinder PLUS...sort of a light modified...and I also never tested PRBs out of it, having the rifled barrel.

But with the rifled barrel gone and finding this left over bag of .600's, I'm planning a range trip to run some more shot pattern tests out of the "IC+" barrel, and while there can check PRB accuracy as well...will post results when I get time for the range trip.

I will be interested to read your results, as I just shipped off my 20 gauge barrel to be jug choked.

How much choke are you getting?

I told him "Full Choke, a little on the tight side, if anything". It's for Turkey Hunting and I'm fine with shooting ball out of my rifles and shot out of the smoothbore but if I were to spot a Bear while Turkey hunting it would be nice to be able to pull the shot load and make a stalk.

And mine would have been good enough for that...its just that I like to be able to always at least keep hunting loads inside a 3" aimpoint sticker while shooting from a sitting position as if I was leaning up against a tree...and after the 'Full' jug choke, mine would no longer consistently do that...instead it went to a 4-5" group at 50yds

another also looking forward to results, contemplating the jug choke also.

My smoothy is choked mod. and I just shot prb for the first time last Monday with shaky results. I plan on doing further testing weather permitting tomorrow.
