You can end up a trophy here in Texas doing that to someone! Don't think 30 minutes of wait time is necessary...rolling and smoking a Bugler quirley is about a 5 to 6 minute job! :haha:

My hunting reload board holds 2 PRB's, has 2 powder containers, a shortened ball starter, and a small pouch to hold a small priming flask. I have yet to fire a second shot at a deer, but I guess it is because I am picky about the shots I take at live game. I do reload after shooting a deer, just in case the first would is not fatal, and a finisher is needed.

This sounds like a very cool kit.

Could I bother you to share a picture?

EDIT: oops! You already addressed that!

Maybe you can share it with the rest of us.....

That is what the bag is for. Rummage around and find what I need, reload then drink a cup of coffee(to warm my hands). After that let the young ones go look for it.

I made one that holds four balls but I am going to make another because I see where I can improve it for hunting. First question for whitetail deer hunting how many balls do you think it should hold, I am thinking one or two.

Mine holds three and is small enough to slip in a loop on my horn strap.

You should make the first ball count. Whitetails rarely stick around long enough to load a second ball, even with a ball board. Once you fire that first shot, you'll have plenty of time to load a second from your bag.

Also, I stopped carrying a ball board when I couldn't find any evidence they were in use much before the Civil War...

I have. And also I have hunted other stuff, like squirrel where where I expected to get more shots.

Mine holds five. I keep in on a leather thong around my neck. It is part of my kit for my Lyman GPR .50. I can usually get 5 patched balls down the bore before I am forced to swab it, atleast I can in the summer when the humidity down here is so thick you can write your name in it with your finger. :hatsoff:
