My wife and I travel across Michigan every week to care for our grand kids. Each week we stop at different gun stores on the way, looking for caps. If we find any we are usually limited to one tin. I probably have enough now for the rest of the year. It appears that what we are finding is old stock rather than caps that have just been shipped in. What I think is the biggest gun store in the state hasn't had caps in 2 years.

I don't understand why caps are so expensive and rare. I would have thought by now that another company would start making them. Can't be as involved as 22 RF cases. Most of my percussion guns can also use musket caps and I stocked up 3 years ago.

Every Dunham's I've been in is totally stocked with CCI #11 Magnums

I don't hoard but whenever I'm in there I pick up 2 or 3 tins

A "range trip" for me might be 48 shots through a pair of revolvers and a few through a long gun, so a few tins of caps will last months for me
