I've made a bunch of fairly plain priming (or salt) horns out of cut off tips of horns that were not good for one reason or another.

Then I have made some fancier ones as well.......

I like them all......I just never seem to use them for priming.....not sure why.....?
Truly beautiful work as always. I absolutely love the double dolphins and trident, seems like a great way for some submariner to salt his meal.

Being a small caliber devotee I use a priming horn as my Hunting Horn holds about 750 grains of powder and at 15 grain charges that is 50 shots. But it does not look nearly as good as those beautiful work.

Just amazing. If you want to send me some I will field test them for you. I am a professional!

WOW !!! Crazy good work. The 2 original horns I have , are both priming horns , Flat plugs , and cord lanyards on both. 3/16 " wood stoppers , Very utilitarian.

These horns are crying out for wear marks and PATINA!

I've learned opening a davec thread will result in viewing some amazing work. Seems not to matter what material he is working in, it will be stunningly beautiful. And a prolific artist, to boot. I am in awe again.
