I have heard of a new priming powder finer than 4f and faster. Anyone had experience with it? Where can it be found?

Some people like the "7" F , which is really just black powder dust, fast but also subject to static discharge since it does have dust in it. Black powder granules don't ignite by static , but the dust will! Also the fine particles do not have a complete graphite coating which means they will draw moisture from the air! :idunno:

Yes, that is the powder of choice for line shooters.

Most likely not important in the woods.

Goex sells Meal-D which is the same type of dust like powder that Swiss Null-B is.
I bought a couple of cans last year and use it in my flint pistols.

Lordy... 3F fires faster than my human eyes or ears can distinguish, so does 2F in my smoothie. I won't argue the fact priming powders are faster, because they are. Just no need for me to buy numerous powders for a fractional difference in ignition speed... The animals I harvest don't seem to mind either.

Been a few years, but I was a Range Officer for the NMLRA and worked our local Territorial shoot.
Being RO you watch a lot.
The guy's that where using Swiss Null B had immediate ignition, Amazingly Fast. No need for some kind of timing device or high speed camera, I mean it was enough for an observer to notice.
One year it was windy as heck, 20mph with 30+mph gusts, flags where straight out all day and I have always seen rock tossers struggle in the wind. The Guy's using that Null B had no problems.

Interesting, will see if I can find some, never heard of it.

Visited with Keith B. for a bit in Phoenix last week.

The Gentleman who use to come out West ever year with Powder to sell in PHX, ( Don E.) sold some secret mixture in a can labeled with a "GATOR".

Don said it was his secret priming powder, it was like dust, it was fast, and I suspect it was fines collected when powder was manufactured.

He sold it in 1/2 Pount Quantities, and most people who bought it seem happy with its performance.

Sounds scary :shocked2: to me. Buying secret powders from other than a known manufacturer seems like a risky proposition. I wouldn't touch the stuff. Was that the same 'Don' who used to sell powder at Berryville, Arkansas but had his license pulled by the ATF?
