I shot in a match at a rondyvous. One station on the woods walk required a shot with the rifle turned upside down. To get the sights lined up on the target, the butt stock rested on the top of my head. I pulled the trigger on my flinter. The pan lit and the main charge went off. The resulting side blast through the touch hole sent burning powder into my left bicep. Left arm supported the forend. I had a first degree burn and small bits of powder and fouling imbedded in my arm. This was with FFFg in the pan and barrel.

Sgt, sounds like you should have skipped that Black Powder Tatoo shot but i’m sure it didn’t cross your mind that it would happen. Heck i prob would have not thought about that.
