Both of the guys conducting the Archery events for the Redezvous that I'm conducting are not sure as am I as to what types of targets are normally used for a woods walk. Any help anyone could offer would be most appreciated. Thanks

I have set up a few and on a low budget. (read No budget...)
Feed sacks stuffed with shrink wrap or grocery bags work as cheap backstops. There are some nice animal photo targets that do well glued to cardboard and set up in front of the bags. Finding a source for regular 3D targets is nice too. Between a friend's and my own targets we had 7 at one shoot.

See if theres a traditional archery club around you and ask them if you could borrow some targets. They might even have some shot up ones you could buy off them for cheap.Spray foam works good to repair them with!
Get with a bunch of friends who might have some.
Check with some local ML clubs

Arrows will not go through carpet if it is hanging. Put any small target that you want - for example an apple on a cut out of a head in front of a large piece of carpet. If they miss the target the carpet will keep the arrow and avoid having to hunt for lost arrows. That should allow you lots of leeway for targets.

Another target that was used back in the pre 3D days. They would hang a cardboard target on a wire in front of some sandy soil 3 or 4 feet behind. Each archer would put a color of crayon on there broadhead. You then shot thru the cardboard target into the sand. Your shot could be sorted out by the wax crayon left on the target. Before your group left the target you put a small patch of tape on the holes.

The expensive 3-d animal targets are the most interesting, but a simple bale of hay from the feed store with a realistic paper animal target works just as well and is cheap. If your looking for interesting target ideas, goodle up trad archery rendezvous pics. I think an intersting archery woodswalk at a muzzlloading rondy would have a mix of archery targets, ML pistol targets, and hawk and knife throws. The archery centric walk like this would have no stations for long gun Ml's so you could carry the bow and auxiliary weapons on your belt. I would build a seperate woods walk for long guns.

If you go the hay or wheat straw route be sure to re-band the outside perimeter if it is tied with sisal cord or you will most likely have loose straw everywhere when someone cuts a cord. Don't ask me how I know this.

Thanks to all of you guys, I relly appreciate your input. I just wan't the 2009 NEPR to be a safe, enjoyable, & memorable experience.
