Hi,

I've got a few sad tales for sale. I'll post them individually per the rules, but the story is thus: I have three Pietta revolvers for sale. They're pretty significantly rusted, but probably very shootable after clean-up. They were used in theatrical production and were loaded with paper cartridges without projectiles. The theatre company ignored the part of the contract where they were supposed to clean the guns using the included instructions, and they sat uncleaned for years. Anyway, they were recently discovered while we moved storage and are now for sale to someone who might want to restore them back to health. I have two 1851 Brassers with 8" barrels in .44 and one 1858 steel in .36.

All three are locked up, but the hammer and connected hardware moves. It's just the cylinder is rusted at the arbor, so the hammer doesn't move far.

Hey this was double posted. Can't believe the rush on these. But again anything gun is going nuts.
Pull the grips and soak them for 2 days in warm "F" type transmission fluid. Get a turkey baster
and put them in it. Warm it two or three times over the 48 hours. Let stand. It will loosen right
up. Do not get over 180 degrees due to springs. No need for acetone and other fluids.
Then 30 weight ND oil and fine steel wool several times. Nice project. The Bores might need
serious work-- in normal times these are $50-75 guns. Gun appears fired Blanks and not cleaned.
Whoever gets them post photos of the restorations. Thanks.

Ya they want $95 but I saw somewhere for $69 Thanks for tip. These guns will
be good for back ups not beauty queens but great camping back up pieces.

VTIGunparts.com has every part you might need including new cylinders for $85 in either caliber. They also have a full gun repair service for $175 plus parts of needed. With a rusted gun like that I would get their screw & spring replacement package which come in either stainless or plain steel. I've purchased a couple of replacement parts and one spring & screw replacement package and everything dropped right in, no modification needed.
