Just completed my 4th rifle, pretty happy with how it came out. Need to spend more time on the finish, I get too anxious to get it done.
Ed Rayl's Christian Springs barrel, 50 cal, relieved muzzle, it's a breeze to load.
Dale Johnson lock, White Lightning touch hole liner
Brass and plans are from TOW. Inlays hand cut.

Very Nice -- for just your 4th rifle it is a great looking rifle - you did good :hatsoff: .

Very nice! Great wood too. Can you tell us more about the relieved muzzle. Did you cone the barrel yourself or is that something that Ed Rayl does?

This is done by Ed. It's an extra service when you order the barrel. Around $25, you can push the ball right down with finger and it's ready to cut the patch or if you use precut patches, ready to shove home with ramrod.

Sorry about the link, I can't figure out how to get the picture to show up on the post.

Beautiful build. Any more close up pics.....Pbox side of the butt?...Fred

I've added some progress photos to the photobucket album. They are out of order as far as time line but I'll work on that. I've been waiting for a decent day to get the thing on a bench. Sent about 10 rounds down range off hand just to see how it fired. Probably will open up the touch hole to 1/16" and see how it works. With 1-1/8" breach I probably should have used a 5/16" White Lightning liner instead of 1/4". Since this was the first one I did myself if I messed up I'd be able to bump up to 5/16 if I had to. Thanks everyone for the comments.
