A little bit ago somebody asked how to easily pull a over shot card to dump shot so they could load a RB. CoyoteJoe told me about how to jab one side of your card to release the shot with your field rod. I did this a bit and it worked but not fast enough for me to feel I could get a shot off at big game or what ever it was I wanted a RB for. Now I use a bullet puller, much faster and you are pulling your shot card as well, It takes me about a min and a half not hurrying to much.

Well you're just flat slow! :haha: But really if you want an "all around gun" it needs to have two barrels. I've often loaded a percussion side by side double with ball in one barrel and shot in the other. And I do have the "foraging gun" with a .45 rifle barrel and 32 gauge smoothbore. You may have noticed in the movie "Jeremiah Johnson", the first Indian he encounters is carrying such a piece.

I prefer the ball puller method as well. Though last deer season I shot a squirrel with a round ball out of my smoothie when I unloaded it from that evenings hunt.
