Not sure exactly which forum this best fits, but I guess here. Correct me as needed....

I got an 1858 .44 Remington revolver, built by ASM, originally marketed through CVA, sold by Deer Creek Products and bought through ThePossibleShop.com.

Timing was off so I called CVA. Apparently they're the ones now addressing problems. The timing was off when I got the kit, they said they'd fix it free, I sent it in....

Now I get a call that it'll cost $30 to fix it. It was off when I got it. With all the hassles it'd be cheaper, faster, easier... just to buy the completed gun.

I enjoy the kits because I'm just like that, but is this sort of issue a norm I can expect?

I agree, then I take them completely apart and finish them correctly.

I wouldnt back down from them. They sold you a defective kit and now want you to pay to fix their problem? It may be too late but I would ask for a manager or someone higher up to speak with.

Well, before I got around to calling CVA back they sent the revolver back to me... marked "Not Repairable"

I was sold a defective revolver kit. All I want is the timing adjusted.

I'm calling them tomorrow.

I'm bringing back an ear....
