Question about shooting patches

I’ve been using preluded patches that are 40-49 in my 50 cal GPR. The patch comes up the sides to about half the ball.
Is there anything wrong with that? I think Im get better accuracy with this size patch then the 50-54.

You're just fine. Keep on keeping on. Your results verify your hypothesis.

You're good as long as the ball does not touch the bore.

A slightly smaller patch just means you have to be a little more careful to center the ball. I've used both in a 50, and the 50-54 is only a little bigger and (for me) a little easier to center the patch and ball on the bore.

Be sure that the patch doesn't turn when loading...
