I watching the videos on Youtube of the assembly of the Kibler Colonial and when it came to the lock having to drill and tap the threads for the lock, but apparently the Woodsrunner that's already done. Is that still the same way with the Colonial or have they gotten it so that's not necessary, like the Woodsrunner is set up.

It’s drilled and tapped with the appropriate bolts included,

Drilling a lock plate is pretty easy. It actually helps with variables since there’s little chance of the screw hole being off and not lining up since you drill it once the lock is fitted. You can fix it if it’s off but the time spent fixing it would be way more than if you drilled your own lock hole, lol. When it lines up it’s nice though. Seems all kibler kits are pre-drilled now and they are pretty good about lining stuff up.

The Colonial kits have seen many updates since the videos were made for them and are closer to the Woodsrunner in actual build procedure. So much so after having built a Colonial and WR in the last few years I'd recommend using the WR video overall and reference the Colonial vid just for the couple of technique differences between the two. The holes are all predrilled and tapped now and the kits come with a tap just in case something happens and the threads need chased. At least mine did.
The SMR rifles are in the same boat, kits have been updated, and the build vid doesn't match how the rifles are shipped nowadays. Jim addressed this issue recently and stated that they need to make new build videos to match the current product.
