definitely not wanting to shoot 60yrds. 35 yrds max would be nice.

I like the thrill of calling them in close.

What two loads are you using if you care to share.
Same load I quoted in earlier post just add a cardboard x in the shot load as a spreader in the left barrel. 2 3/4 drams 3Fg Swiss, hard card over powder, TPS wad, mylar wrap, 1 oz. 9.5's TSS and a thin over shot card.

Sometimes you get lucky and a load works right from the start, sometimes not. The thing to learn is when to stop, lol. I've got good loads for turkey, waterfowl and upland birds and I stick with them. Only thing I'm gonna learn next is how to make my own powder.
Have you tried increasing the powder to blow your shot pattern for closer shots rather than using the x spreaders?

As much as everybody likes HC/PC doing and that's plenty ok in my book, ifn' your willing to 'speriment' with other stuff you'd be surprised how much in the shotgun world ya can learn from how they control patterns with loads and not just chokes in unmentionables in England. Wish @Britsmoothy would chime in on this.
