How much do you need to taper?
I have several muzzleloader’s with different sizes. Most are custom made. Several production guns I’ve bought replacements for in the past.

Anyway, several years back I bought a bundle of 100 hickory rods in various sizes from TOW.

Want to custom fit anything I feel needs replacing and have some on standby if the need arises?

Respectfully, Cowboy

Think I’ve seen a hand held shaving tool that was designed to taper ramrods?

Anybody know of any, or has one for sale?

Respectfully, Cowboy
Do what you want, but a simple block plane works very well to cut the wood down. Hand sand with the paper wrapped around the work and move the rod and hands. No big deal. Most people who do any wood work have a block plane. The key is sharp!!
