Here is an applied tip for the ramrod for the raffle fowler that I've been working on, the tip is elk antler.

20th century version of hide glue, wood glue, Will pin it as well.

It should be quite resilient, on the other hand it is not a range rod, for a fowler either with ball or shot it should do just fine for a loading rod.

I like critique and or input, kinda winging it here.
 
I like it. Well formed and clean job. I personally prefer the horn rather than antler.
If you send me a pm with your email address as a reminder ( out in the shop inletting a barrel) I will send you some pictures of two ways of securing the tip. one is off of a gun where we know the tip is most probably original to the mid 18th century fowling gun.
