I do like the historical correctness of a tool caddy box to hold all the specific needs for one rifle, or fowling piece, or pistol.
A range box to do all things can get quite heavy. The weight of a single purpose shooting equipment is much less.
Of course you could use a single purpose shooting bag for each firearm which would be the most historically correct approach to the transport of shooting supplies to the firing line.
