I am not active with my range leadership and very rarely attend a monthly meeting. However, I think it would be great if my range had a traditional black powder shoot one day. Obviously if I want to make such a thing happen I need the buy in and approval of range leadership. Assuming I go to a meeting and get the buy in, how/where do I advertise such an event to get a pretty decent turn out? I could post flyers in the local gun shops, any other ideas?

Hota,

I don't know where you're from or what the population concentration is, (suburbs, rural, big city, etc...) BUT...

A small blurb in the local paper would pro'bly help out a ton! If you plan on making this a regular (monthly/semi-annual/annual) event, then I'd invite someone from the local press or radio station to stop by and check things out. (Nothin' bettern' free press coverage!) (You might even offer to let 'em shoot a round or two!) Heck, you could even go a little "Andy Griffth" and put a flyer ot two in the barber shop... Maybe even get ol' Floyd to get off his duff and dust off the smokepole that his great gran'daddy left him. And I wouldn't count out any small diners/cafe's or other local meeting places either. Even the local Wal-Mart might let you leave some flyers at the Sporting Goods counter.

Anyway, that's a few ideas for ya' to mull over. Good luck with the shoot!
