Barring events out of my control, I put 40-50 of Hornady's finest downrange every Saturday morning year round (except during hunting season).

Load the blazer Friday night, up at 5:30, leave at 6:15, shooting at 7:00, done by 9:00, home cleaning the rifle by 10:00...last year I had 1800 shots at the range, and 4 in the woods during the rut.

I took my old dog and my 58 cal to the range for a couple of hours this morning. we go every sunday weather permiting.

I tried some new patch an lube combinations today, with my rough barreled 73 cal.

The second and third shots are together [three different groups], then the fourth flies. No cleaning between shots. It looks like a two shot gun! :hmm:

Had to walk about 25 feet out the door to my range! :rotf: :rotf:

I am lucky
the range is only 5 miles away and right on my way to and from work.
I like to shoot after work in the summer. Have time to get off at least 20 rds or so before dark.
Quick clean-up. 3 or 4 times a week on the average.
But living in Northern NH the winters run from Nov to Apr.
Warming up now and IT'S MUD Season. For the southerns that means the ground is actualy not a frozzen brick any more and the water is staring to thaw, you can sink up to your hubcaps if you are not carefull

Halftail,
I can go shooting any day of the week. I ruptured a disc in my lower back and haven't worked since Jan. per/ a Doctors orders. [ He didn't say anything about shooting and I didn't ask] But it isn't much fun without someone to shoot with. I look forward to the weekends to shoot at my club and once a month I go down to Exeter Rhode Island and shoot with a group of friends there....Jim

With 1800 shots at the range your bound to be ready when the chance at 4 shots hunting comes by!
I find the more practice I get shooting flintlock the more it seems like I'm shooting percussion.I hope to be ready and confident in my Flintlocking abilities come fall.Probably not 1800 shot ready but maybe 700 or so... :v

Got out today also. Got a new flint a month ago and have been trying to get out to shoot. Ran 40 shots through her before the weather got to us. Sweet shooter.

Halftail Iam waiting on the groundhogs, won't be long,I can hunt them from house.I have 50&100 yrd range on my property. Can shoot of porch 25yrds. Have guns sighted in,ready to go.No need to waste powder on paper. Dilly

I attended the Alvin C. York Memorial Shoot yesterday and inspired by the goings-on did some over the log
shooting this afternoon with a Cabela's Hawken I bought a couple of weeks back.

Some folks play golf every Saturday...my thing has become shooting Flintlocks...I used to shoot once a month with caplocks...8-10 times per year. But since I got into Flintlocks I can't get enough of it...

Roundball,
I got a bunch of them stuck in my trucks rear window.

Good idea...may do that myself...right now I have them on range boxes, work benches, etc.

(just wish they had them in 3F and 4F !! grin:)
