F 1101

I couldn't figure that out.

I thought I bought a 2nd generation 1851 navy. They're supposed to be F1100

I also didn't notice that the cylinder had no engraving on it. Or that the wedge screw was gone.

(Real sharp huh?)

So I finally get a chance to do some research. Turns Colt made a batch of 1851 Navy's with no engraving on the cylinder. And these got the model number F1101.

according Dennis Russel in his book 300 F-series 1851 Navy were made with a blank cylinder as F1101 model. Production ran from October 1981 until November 1981 with S/N range 28851 to 29150

So anyways, here's one for sale.

It was not a safe queen, appears to have been shot a bit.

I would call it a user, there are some dings and dents that keep it out of the pristine collectors category.

There is a wedge screw included, but the diameter of the screw head is too big. Needs turned down.

It was allegedly made for a an original navy.
