The second in what has become a series of two! Not all 18th century pouches were pretty and this is my version of a pouch handed down through the generations. I scour a lot of museums and shows looking at the ‘poor boy’ version of hunting pouches.
Before men decided they needed an overnight bag to carry their hunting accoutrements, hunting pouches were simple, small, often rough affairs that had one purpose: carry what was needed to load and perhaps clean their gun. This pouch is made with that in mind.
This pouch is veg tanned sheep apx 3-4oz (mostly) and has been heavily aged by me. Flax thread of two different styles was used to finish the bag, repair the tear on the flap and stitch the osnaburg strap. Hand forged buckle, 6 1/2” X 8 1/2”, hand stitched and rubbed with preservative/waterproofing of my own proprietary mix. This brand new 200 year old bag will do to run the river or woods for decades more. It has a familiar feel right out of the box.
$110 priority shipping included with a free gift of some sort thrown in as I always do. I take checks, money orders, PayPal, cleverly concealed cash and like that.
*As usual, I am a truck driver and it may take me a few days to ship because most post offices don’t have truck parking
