Any one know the who's got the lowest prices on raw horns ?
I feel I have to make my own powder horn, maybe 3 or 4

rough call!

I like to get the raw horns at rondys so I can see just how bad they are going to be and guess at the colors beneath all of the scale!

TOTW keeps unfinished horns, Dixie Gunn Works used to keep them. Log Cabin Shop has them too.

Check out the suppliers in the links and you will probably find more.

J. Townsend sells a cheap finished horn that is inexpensive and worth looking into for a project. You can buy one for $10 or less and rework it to suit your tastes. The plugs are pretty rough but most of the scrape and polish work is done. You could replace the plug, scrape some more, reshape the spout and get hornwork out of your system. It's almost as addictive as gunbuilding or leather work.

beware,
