Finally got my Crockett rifle. Cast some balls from roof flashing using a Lee .311 mould. Balls are casting .311-.314.

Traditions suggest .310 ball in .15 patching. Can I just compensate by using thinner patch? I'm only three thousandths off at most. thank you

Sure, I used .320 buckshot in my Crockett. It was just a tighter load. You most likely will not even need to change patch material.

Yes use these balls you have cast. In my pedersoli .32 I shoot cast .311 with a .015 patch or single 0 buckshot , .320, with a .010 patch.....................watch yer top knot...............

I cast with the Lee .311" mold but haven't measured any of the ball. They load and shoot fine with .020" ticking.
