Hello, I just got a ML derringer it is .41 and looks similar to a Philly Derringer but it is not.
The only markings are an M over IX and the serial # on the top and made in spain on the bottom if you guys need a pic let me know.It also has some brass doo dads on it.
Thank in advance.

It is .41 as that is stamped on the barrel and it isn't quite as bulbous as the CVA/Deer Creek one. The barrel is octagon on top and round on the bottom.

Looks like a Mendi (spanish) or maybe an Italian made peice. I've seen them on the auction sites many times and they are usually .41 cal. A .395 ball with a patch should work with that derringer. A powder charge of 15 to 20 grains should work nicely.

I've got one, (DIXIE?) Spanish, rifled, half round (under stock), above that octagonal, coil spring lock, wood looks like Beech or something. Works OK, lock is sluggish. Fun to shoot w/PRB 0.420" or so with 20grs 3F.

Don't know what it's good for, but fun to shoot.

But be careful! From 30', mine will bounce back a ball from a 3/8" ply sheet, and can land on your lap/eye/groin, etc.
