I'll admit I'm new to this game, and this is not the last time I'll use that excuse in this forum, but I cannot find a magazine that caters to our particular obsession. I picked up one that claims to cover black-powder rifles but really only deals with "those other things which shall remain unmentioned."
Suggestions?

Newf,
What is your particuliar obsession? Trekking?
Primitive solo camping? A special time frame?

You might also enjoy looking at www.blackpowderjournal.com .
It's an online magazine. My personal favorite is Muzzleloader Magazine. Been with them from the beginning and still reread a lot of my back issues as new questions and projects occur. Only downside is there are only 6 issues a year.

Got my first issue of Muzzleloader magazine about a week ago. Excellent material - almost certain to have at least one article of interest to anyone in the hobby. I especially enjoyed Tony Hunter's article on the Rev War battle of Bemis Heights (Saratoga)... enough so that I'm ordering back issues to get the other four parts of the article.

I'm reading and enjoying Mark Baker's book - I'm glad to see he is also still writing for Muzzleloader magazine.

Muzzleloader was my saving grace when I was stuck in 29 Palms. I couldn't wait for each issue.
Glad you're enjoying it
My wife won't let me have my copy of Mark's book, she wrapped it for Christmas! :boohoo:

Once again, thanks lads. I will check out these publications. In response to your question Coamm, I guess you could say I'm evolving (devolving?) into a more traditional hunter. I traded in my compound bow for a recurve last year. Bought my T/C .50 Hawken this summer and love it. I'll be out on opening day with the scoped 30.06 'cause the freezer's near empty, any supplimentary tags are reserved for the Hawken.
Work in progress....
