Thanks to everyone who helped me put this thing together, you know who you are....

The last of the parts came together this morning and not after some apprehension and adjustments. I started the kit during a two month drought here in the NE that ended with the last two weeks of much more humid weather. Needless to say, the delicate stock of the Woodsrunner needed some mild coaxing to go back together.

Other trials included:

  • Sheering off the nose cap screw and having to get a replacement cap
  • A failed initial barrel browning
  • Over darkening the stock and having to scrub the hell out of it to see the grain
  • A front sight I over filed and required dimpling to get it to stick in the dovetail
  • .... and lastly, a rotten mouse that decided to nibble on the butt of my stock!
We'll see if I can finish the deal with a whitetail during the flintlock season after Christmas, which would be my first flintlock deer after many years of trying.

Overall a great kit, and if you've spent any time on this forum you already knew that...
