Some folks say "use only black powder"!
Who makes real "black powder"?
I've got G-O Ind. Inc. that I've had for years and am running low. Need to get more. What name brands do I look for? Thanks. Mike.

Mikey,

GO is an old brand of "real" black powder. Now I believe it's called GOEX. Another popular brand is SWISS.

See the current post "Black Powder Sales" in the Shooting Accessories section. GW

Check out www.powderinc.com for GOEX, KIK and Swiss. I buy my GOEX there. They ship it to your door; though you do have to take the hit for the hazardous shipping fee. In lots of 10 lbs and up it is cheaper than buying locally . . . and that is even considering the local price five years ago when local dealers still carried black powder vs. PowderInc currently.

Goex is the American maker of Black Powder. They have relocated from PA to Louisianna. Wano, and Schutzen are made by the same European Firm, and Swiss is made by another. There may be another manufacturer in Australia, but I am not sure about that.

Goex used to be part of the DuPont Chemical Corp. but apparently has been split off.

You can google these names and find out more details about the companies.
