Noted: Stick NOTHING on the bullet base.
The 300gr HB are cast from pure lead and do not require any sizing.

Source of pure lead is sticky wheel weight that I've accumulated over the years.

Blizzard,
Currently using "1995 Lube" sourced from Paul Matthews

2 parts yellow beeswax
1 part Pure Neatsfoot Oil
1 part Murphy’s Oil Soap

I "finger lube" each bullet as I load them and keep paper towels handy to wipe off fingers.
Only tested @ 25yds, best load provided this group.

Since this barrel is 1-66 twist rate, if it can group this bullet in 2" @ 50yds I'll be very happy.

Dryball, we order from www.Neymetals.com in New York. You can also buy pure tin if you need to alloy your lead for cartridge use. I'm not sure what their minimum order is we get 2 tons at a time. Uncrichie.

I have a TC Cherokee in 45. For pigs here in Georgia, I have been shooting 200 grain Lee REALS with good results. My load is 70 grains of Pyrodex RS and borebutter. The largest pig was a boar about 150 pounds. They are very accurate and none of the pigs have said anything about the performance.

there likely ain't many critters that would say anything about a 200 gr slug moving at around 12-1300 fps after being on the recieving end of it.

Due to the fertillity of the critter in question, just about anywhere! The southern half and coastal areas have a lot of palmetto thickets. The creak/river bottoms in these areas are my favorite. I live in Macon and have a lot of public land to choose from. Most of the WMA's now allow hog hunting with muzzle loaders until the end of February.
