Sold pending funds. This is a very well executed and unfired NW Trade Gun in .62. It was built by Nelson J Englbrecht of Illinois, probably in the 80s. It has a deeply browned 30.5" half round half octagon barrel with two wedding bands. The bore is pristine. It has the classic stylized turtle front sight. Top of barrel stamped PFLAZ, with Birmingham proofs on side flat. The Walnut stock has been stained reddish brown. The LOP is 14.25". The correct style round face lock has ENGLBRECHT 1820 stamped on it. Sparks well, but needs a slightly longer flint. Buttplate has HBC (Hudson's Bay Company), the number 40 and NJE stamped on it. It is possible that Mr. Englbrecht put the German city of Pflaz on the barrel as a tribute to his family heritage. Really beautiful NW Trade Gun. $1200 + Shipping.
