Is there a good substitute commercial rear sight for the T/C Seneca .45 that can be put on out of
the box? (No drilling etc.)My rear sight is lowered all the way to get good group at 50 yds. No more adjustment for a "Better Sight Picture".
+/- powder adjustment no good.

Does a T/C peep sight do anything for you?? If it's a newer model T/C it should fit without drilling and tapping, on mine there's plenty of adjustment since it sits a little lower on the tang.

It may be that the barrel is not perfectly true so just as an alternative...with T/C's lifetime warranty and the laser guided barrel straightening machine they now have, you could send it back and have them check/true it up at no charge.

My TC Seneca 45 cal has the patridge front sight and I much perfer a bead front sight. When I was using Triple Seven in this rifle it also shot high. When I went to 2F Goex and 70 grains it was still down pretty far, but I was able to zero it. I wish TC had put a bead front on this rifle.

Rat,
Just substitute a TC Hawken front sight for the Seneca, it is a blade with a bead on top.

Hawken barrels are either 15/16" or 1"...with 3/8" sight dovetails.

The little Seneca/Cherokee barrels are only 13/16" so there would be some pretty visible overhang of a Hawken sight base on both sides of the 13/16" barrel.

And, it might not even have a 3/8" dovetail...might be a proportionally smaller dovetail to match the smaller sized barrel, dunno

As Roundball pointed out TC Hawken rifles have either a 15/16 or 1 inch barrel, while the Seneca has the 13/16 barrel. The other problem is the rear sight. The sight that comes with the Seneca has the square notch for a blade front sight. If you change the front to a bead, then the rear needs to be changed too.

Just food for thought, but the Cherokee came with a bead front sight and bead type rear sight. Other than that, they're the same as the Seneca's and I happen to have a messed up Cherokee barrel with good sights that I'd consider swapping for your Seneca sights. I don't know if that would cure your problem, but I thought I'd throw that out.
