Hello Gentlemen,

Its been a few years since I have followed pricing and avaiblity of long guns from folks like Pedersoli and the like.

I have come back to the buying game as I am in a hunt for a 1862 Richmond Reproduction or a P1853 (kicking my self for selling my 2 band Pedersoli 7 years ago) / 1861 Springfield.

From what I have noticed stock in the United States for these reproductions are non existant and pricing has increased 3 fold was wondering if you gentlemen have any insight or thoughts you could share on the situation.

Is the pricing due to stock shortage (as i noticed the hand guns etc seem more stable in term of availabity and pricing compared to the long guns)?

Any way thank you for your attention.

There might be a Richmond musket on gunbroker now. A couple 61 repros as well. I’d take a decently cared for used Italian military musket over a newly produced one. My Mississippi rifle made by Zoli in 1964 is amazing. Older is gooder!🤪

I can understand price increase. What puzzled me was the lack of any avaiblity.

I also noted currency values to the dollar are not just inflation its the ratio of the local currency vs USD and cost of labor etc. For example Turkish firearms are at the all time low (1911 forged no casted parts $299) or Turkey MP5s made on H&K tooling is sub 1k when i got mp5 i paid 1300 2 years ago and thought i had a great deal.

I also noted the (in my humble opinion) the crudly made Indian replicas are avaible are same price that they have been for past 5+ years).

Its one of the main reasons i signed up on this form to keep an eye on the open market to see if I can get one resasonable.

As I am coming from a place where I am kicking of Selling my pedersoli Missipii for sub $800 and it was like new same with my 1858 2band Pedersoli Enfield.
