I got invited to shoot at a local Black Powder shotgun range this week. They have 8, 12, 16, and 20 yard Trap, Skeet, and Sporting Clays.
I went Thursday and watched; met some great folks and saw some amazing shooting. A gentleman from Alabama was shooting his original French made 20 bore double with a square load of 5/8 oz of shot and fffg (40grs). He was smoking the skeet range when he wasn't giving me tips for my 20 bore.
I went back yesterday and shot 12 yard trap with a friend's 10 bore; the wind had changed to hard behind us. I managed to break 5, had the wind take 2 away from me that i shouldn't have shot at. Having never shot BP trap and using a borrowed gun doesn't help i guess. I need to work on stopping my swing.

The match is open to anything using black powder, from unmentionables to original 8ga dbls to Repros to a guy shooting a custom made FOUR BORE! He used 2 oz of fffg and 2oz of shot! He murdered the birds at the 20 yard line.

There's a trading blanket with several NICE shotguns and a vendor set up at the top of the hill.

The nasty weather has halted today's activities, but they will resume tomorrow. There is almost 50 entries spread over 3 ranges, so there's plenty to see and do.
I'll post after going tomorrow.
