This is my first contribution of a new topic so if it is under the wrong heading please excuse the mistake.
Here is a great idea that might help shooters who have difficulty holding their rifles to reload during trailwalks. My good friend Redbeard suffers from an arthritic condition in both knees, making it extremely painful for him to grip his rifle between his knees to reload. He made up a tiny belt out of a simple thin leather strap about 1 inch wide by 20 or so inches long. It is secured through the large buckle of his rendezvous belt. Placing the muzzle of his rifle through the looped strap allows him to safely load his rifle without straining his knees. It doubles as a ramrod retainer when he is shooting, so he doesn't have to lean the rod against a tree or lay it on the ground.
The attached pictures are pretty much self-explanatory.
Strap shown with throwing knife for scale.
Attached to belt buckle.
Inserting muzzle through the loop.
Using the ramrod.
Loop also corrals the ramrod while you shoot.
