Some of my rifles have set triggers while others have a single trigger. I know that some set triggers, like all of mine, can be set when the hammer is on the nipple, while others can be set only after the gun is cocked. I'd like to know what makes the difference. Since I only have the one kind to look at, cam anyone post a pic or two showing the difference, please? Thanks.
 
There are one with a sear on the front and no lever on it. I built one gun with that type. Most today have the lever on both triggers
Then there is mine. I have a double leaver on I inlet it and it worked, but I never tested just the front. And it wasn’t till the gun was finished they I discovered the front couldn’t fire the gun, and I never saw the point to fixing the flaw
So to answer it’s a design feature or an inletting mistake
