SOLD REDUCED Antique FRENCH Model 1822 Percussion Conversion

Sale Pending. This French Model 1822 .69 rifled musket is in good plus, very shootable condition. It was converted from flintlock to percussion. From the well-worn sling and newish nipple, I think it was a reenactor weapon. Bore in 42.5" barrel is shiny with wide, shallow rifling. Conversion date is 1835. Unit markings on buttplate dated 1836. Good choice for Texas Revolution Through Civil War use. $575 + Shipping.

Not sure , but it looks like a percussion conversion of a French M1822 rifled musket. It's not American, but might have been imported during the Civil War.

That DOES look awfully french. You see that trigger gaurd on French "T" rifled muskets and thier Belgian contracts.

You may be right. The paperwork said Harper's Ferry 1816. I found pics of the Springfield and it looks right.. But it's based on a French model, so I looked no further.

I think I was thrown off by the nipple placement. I am always thrown off by nipple placement.
