If you were going to buy only one, which would it be, Lyman or Sam Fadala?

Thanks
Jimbo

The lyman reloading manual is written by Sam Fadala as is the gun digest manual.

Lyman's "Black Powder Handbook & Loading Manual" 2nd edition, 2001, by Sam Fadala, is a loading manual with tons of info on most calibers except .40. Fadala wrote other books about black powder but they are not loading manuals.

"The Gun Digest Blackpowder Loading Manual, Expanded 4th Edition" Book by Sam Fadala

"Lyman Black Powder Handbook and Loading Manual: All New 2nd Edition" Book By Sam Fadala

I count 2 loading manuals by Sam Fadala

I do not know what the Gun Digest book is. The Lyman book is a very good loading manual, from .32 to .75 rifle (but no .40), pistol, revolver, black powder cartridge and shotgun loads. Maybe someone else can comment on the Gun Digest book.
