Hey all

I just did a disassembly on my 1858 Rem and something is not quite right with the hammer......it seems to be rubbing against something right before it hits the frame.

Fortunatey this only happens when you lower the hammer slowly.....I just took it apart again and inspected the hand and handspring and inserted it a little more carefully with the same end results
The revolver functions fine except for that slight resistance
This is my first try at taking it apart.....I'm wondering if I put somethings in wrong or backwards etc etc
Another funny thing is that the spring pushed the hammer back almost to full cock while I had the mainspring out......this seemed odd to me, perhaps it's normal
Ohh.......another thing is that the teeny tiny screw that attaches the hand onto the hammer doesn't seem to be the right size, as if the screw head will slide right out the hole.

Are there any tutorials on this forum or any other website which cover this topic in detail...

Any of you with this same pistol wish to go over it with me?

Thanks
Iain
